Soft-Landing Camps
A school year abroad is a safe way to experience adventure. You go to a completely new country where you learn a foreign language and experience a foreign culture. Your days will be packed with interesting classes, places and people that will quickly become your friends. You will experience everything in a foreign country but with full support from home. This can become a real adventure: an adventure that requires preparation.
To make sure you are ready in the best possible way, Explorius has developed what we called Soft Landing Camp in several of program countries. Soft Landing Camps were created to give you a taste of what is waiting for you during your high school year. The program is different depending on what program country man the basic agenda is the same. We speak about the expectations we have for ourselves as well as for our host family, school, and what expectations are for us as students. We also highlight the phenomenon that affects almost all students: homesickness and how to best copy with it. We of course discover several other things about how to spend the year abroad.
A big part of the soft landing camp is to have fun, and we can guarantee you will! The camp is filled with activities and outings. We do fun things and visit exciting places. What about for example visiting the world’s coolest city: New York in the USA or riding a buggy car on the beach in Fortaleza, Brazil. You do all this in the company of other students that are also in your program land. We believe this is the best prerequisite for a great start to your year abroad.
