Below is the summer 2010 camp's program.
One night, two day Soft Landing Camp in Cape Town
- DAY 1
- Collection from host family/airport
- Packed lunch en route / McDonalds
- Arrive at San (bushmen) cultural centre
- San guided tour
- Ride on an open vehicle
- Nature walk learning about tracking skills and local fauna
- Visit to replica traditional village including demonstration of ancient tools & Aspects of traditional life
- Drink at the Boma for an introduction to the clicks and tones of the San languages
- Cultural display at the photo gallery
- Screening of an ethnographic film at the audi-visual theatre
- Introduction to South African life and culture
- Dinner around open fire with traditional south African cuisine
- Sleep over at bush camp (tented camp)
- DAY 2
- Typical South African breakfast followed by orientation
- Scenic mountain drive with fantastic views and photo opportunities of Table Mountain and Cape Town
- Lunch and free time (for students own account) at South Africaʼs no 1 tourist destination ; Waterfront, Cape Town (shopping, restaurants)
- Return to host family
