Brazil - viva la play and samba
America is two continents not just the USA, like many think. Brazil is the heart of America and has become one of our hottest programs, and that’s not only due to the climate. A whole new language, a new big family, piranha fishing in the Amazon and outings to the beach on Sundays. One year in Brazil is very different and includes a whole fantastic fun experiences.
As a Explorius student, you will live a well chosen upper middle class family in the area of Sao Luis in northern Brazil. There is no more crime here than in other big cities in the country. Our program in Brazil is small, person and has its own “dad”, Antonio Bacelar.
You will start your year with a three-day orientation in Fortaleza. Here you will meet new friends, become acquainted with the country and try sandboarding (instead of snowboarding)! During your year it’s all about the Portuguese language, the world’s 6th largest language which is spoken by 170 million people! You will receive language lessons in addition to your regular school and faster than you think, you will be able to write essay and understand everything that is being said. Therefore you don’t need to know any Portuguese beforehand, it is actually more important that you find a Brazilian football/soccer team to cheer on.
